Greg Bendel is a Business Continuity Consultant for Hewlett-Packard. He has over 20 years of experience in the IT Services ranging from software programming/development to business continuity.
Greg currently oversees the development, scheduling, and implementation of IT Disaster Recovery (DR) Exercise Plans for a major American paper products company. His responsibilities include development of both DR Plans and DR Exercise Plans, lead the exercising of DR Plans, advise application owners in Business Continuity best practices in developing DR strategies to achieve desired Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO). Greg also has developed various disaster recovery templates including disaster recovery plans, disaster recovery exercise plans, GAP analysis plans, process documents, training guides, and IT based Crisis Management Plan.
On his free time, Greg is currently a Reserve Sergeant (15 yrs) for his local Sheriff’s Department Search And Rescue Unit and leads the Command, Control, Logistics Squad. With this position in the Sheriff’s Dept., he brings to the BC profession hands on experience in developing and implementing a variety of Emergency Management related plans. His responsibilities include Command Post setup and operations, resource management, and logistics. He has responded to various city and countywide disasters and has a working knowledge of the National Incident Management System (NIMS). Greg is also a public speaker and instructor. He is currently an instructor through a local junior college teaching Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) classes for the Sheriff’s Department. Greg is a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) through DRII (#11182), and holds a bachelors degree in Computer Science from CSUF.
What is the Public Relations Director responsible for?
The Public Relations Director exercises the following minimum responsibilities:
- Manages the publication of Chapter meetings in general public and industry trrade sources to promote the activities of the Chapter
- Works with the ACP Corporate Public Relations Director for the development of Press Releases unique to the ACP OC Chapter
- Coordinates the promotion of the Small Business Continuity Planning Program through local city Chambers of Commerce and other entities
- Solicits advertising space and/or negotiates equitable trade of goods or services for the Chapter
- Performs such other duties as may be assigned by the President
