Estella has 20 years of experience with organizations ranging from Fortune 500 companies to mid-and-small size and ranging in industries such as financial to governmental and legal. Her specialty in the technology spectrum is that she understands how business needs, requirements and risks can be creatively addressed through technological solutions. A unique ability to understand how the different components which make an application system function allows her to methodically and strategically manage any technical project. Her structured and effective management style has earned her the trust and respect of colleagues and superiors.
Estella’s most recent projects affected 100+ participants (inclusive of senior technology and business personnel, as well as, consultants), had global office participation while managing a budget of 1.5 million dollars. Among the projects she’s managed is the data center migration in which she managed the day to day deliverables and tracked the performance of milestones as these were completed. This migration project was successfully completed on time greatly in part to the expert and watchful coordination by Estella.
Following are some accomplishments and highlights of her career:
- Socialized structured Disaster Recovery Planning and Execution methodologies to approximately 220 Western Asset technologists worldwide resulting in the reduction of the failover time from 10 to 4½ hours during the Enterprise Disaster Recovery semi-annual exercises.
- Co-managed a facility relocation project that upgraded Deutsche Bank’s Santa Ana regional office to a Tier IV datacenter yielding greater fault-tolerance providing 99.9% availability. Included 300+ user desktop relocations.
- Introduced and developed a new business opportunity for Knowles-McNiff by adding Desktop Support as a service product into the organization. Solicited and obtained the first client for this new service product increasing revenue by 7% for the firm.
Estella is fluent in Spanish and able to manage projects across language barriers. Her ability to engage people makes her a natural leader. She has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems and is currently working on her PMP certification. In addition she is the Lead Coordinator for the 2009 Fall PMP Preparation Workshops PMBOK 4th Edition. This is a 6 week program and a volunteer opportunity for Estella on behalf of the PMI-LA chapter.
