Mr. McClure has an extensive background and expertise in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning. He served as Vice President in the Contingency Planning Division of Security Pacific Bank for over five years. He conducted multiple projects involving plan development for external customers and internal “user departments”.
Mr. McClure served as a Senior Consultant for Comdisco Disaster Recovery Services (CDRS) Western Region for five years. During that time he successfully conducted multiple planning engagements across a wide range of business and industries. These planning efforts included the development and testing of Disaster Recovery Plans for data centers as well as Business Continuity Plans for corporate entities. In addition, he has extensive experience in the area of Business Impact Analysis and has conducted such studies for major health care service providers, data processing services providers, electronics manufacturers and other diverse industries. He has developed plans for both domestic (U.S.) corporations as well as their international subsidiaries.
Mr. McClure is extremely well versed in all aspects of recovery planning including in-depth interviews with all levels of management and staff; evaluation of site, data and related security issues; review of Vital Records/Offsite Storage programs; development of both project management and project implementation plans; “gap analysis” of existing plans and capabilities; development, distribution and recommendations of Requests For Proposal; evaluation, cost/benefits analysis and recommendations for specific recovery strategies; creation of the recovery organization, individual teams and detailed plans required to execute those recovery strategies; evaluation and selection of alternate processing/resumption sites; pricing and selection of internal and/or external recovery options; plan, hardware, network and team testing at all levels of the organization; and all other aspects of the recovery planning and implementation process.
While at Security Pacific Bank Mr. McClure developed and conducted seminars on the topic of Disaster Recovery Planning. During his tenure with CDRS he taught numerous classes on Disaster Recovery Education for clients. He has also been a guest speaker at the Association of Contingency Planners (ACP) and numerous other organizations.
Ten years ago Mr. McClure founded Business Resource Management Services (BRMS) which is a consulting organization dedicated to all facets of Business Continuity Planning. Among other clients, BRMS has served as the exclusive West Coast consulting organization for Chubb Services Corporation and Practice Manager for Omnikron Systems, Inc.’s Disaster Recovery consulting organization.
Most recently Mr. McClure has served as the ITG Disaster Recovery Planner for Health Net, Inc. In that role he has developed organization-wide Disaster Recovery Plans; conducted an extensive companywide Business Impact Analysis; coordinated the most extensive and successful recovery simulation test in the company’s history; and coordinated with HNI’s Business Continuity Planning Committee.
Mr. McClure has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech and Communication from California State University Northridge and a Juris Doctorate from Southwestern University College of Law. He also holds a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) designation from the Disaster Recovery Institute International.
