Emergency Communications Program Coordinator

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will serve as part of the employee life safety/emergency preparedness team reporting to the manager of Emergency Management. This position will focus on the tools, protocols, and user support for any communication and information displays that would support our client during an emergency. Typical responsibilities include: forming and leading an interdepartmental task force to develop an emergency communication strategy and related protocols, compatible with public sector Standardized Incident Command System (ICS) communications protocols; coordinating the Emergency Communications Liaison network throughout the employer’s departments; maintaining an inventory listing of and monitoring specialty communications tools and programs to ensure interoperability (ie. Satellite telephones; GETS Cards; 900 MHz color named talk group participation); conducting periodic training and readiness tests for users of radios, call trees, GETS cards and satellite phones; integrate the Company Amateur Radio Network into a comprehensive emergency communications plan; overseeing deployment of the Emergency Notification System; serving as project lead to identify and implement appropriate Web tools and/or GIS applications to monitor and display situation assessments and response and recovery progress; maintaining and periodically testing all equipment and communications in the Company Situation Room, Emergency Operations Center and Mobile Command Centers; participating in emergency Duty Manager rotation; coordinate current and proposed communications solutions with IT to ensure alignment with supported technologies; staying abreast of emerging technology; other duties and responsibilities as requested.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: Experience in an environment that uses radio, satellite phone, or other non-standard telephone communications (military, law enforcement, emergency medical services).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information technology or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Demonstrated experience evaluating various tools and devices such as Emergency Notification System, Satellite phones, 900Mhz etc. within the context of emergency management response system.
- Experience working with Incident Command System.
- Demonstrated knowledge of National Emergency Communications Plan.
- Demonstrated ability to train and present information and techniques.
- Demonstrated experience working in public sector or similar emergency operations center.
- Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated experience planning, organizing, prioritizing and overseeing multiple concurrent projects which require delivery of products and services.
- Demonstrated experience gathering and analyzing information and making recommendations for new tools and technologies related to crisis management communications.
- Demonstrated experience consulting with clients, including independently identifying client needs, developing action plans, identifying deliverables, and presenting results.
- Demonstrated experience interfacing effectively and collaborating with peers, other departments and levels of management to develop solutions and ensure stakeholder buy-in.
- Willingness to travel across Company’s service territory.
- Demonstrated proficiency with PC application, including Microsoft Office Suite.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Work with HP client outsourcing teams and clients to plan for, lead and follow up on IT Continuity (DR) exercises using HP's methodology. At time of disaster, working with HP's outsourcing client teams, help lead successful recovery of customers. As part of larger HP continuity services team, contribute to and leverage from best practices and standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Schedule, plan and lead IT Service Continuity exercises in cooperation with HP technical teams and client and any Third-Party Vendors providing services. Gain agreement on exercise scope, which may range from a customer's production data center environment to smaller subsets. Lay out the entire exercise process with specific milestones, objectives and metrics for each scheduled exercise. During the exercise, measure and track recovery timelines Provide guidance and training to the recovery team(s) during the exercise Document exercise results in a formal report, including a comparison of the results to the measures and goals established, action items from the exercise, and recommendations on how the recovery process could be improved to be faster and more reliable pdate the DR/IT Service Continuity plans as needed. On rotating schedule with peers to assist with recovery in case of data center disaster activation Supports practice development initiatives with procedure, product and services enhancements, including contribution to HP's Intellectual Property. JOB DESCRIPTION:
Work with HP client outsourcing team and client to ensure successful service delivery per contract. Includes IT continuity planning and exercise oversight, issue resolution, and related work. As part of larger HP continuity services team, contribute to and leverage from best practices and standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Successfully deliver continuity management at assigned account(s). This entails providing quality deliverables, client satisfaction, meeting the defined timelines, managing to scope and within the projected costs.
• Understand IT Continuity contract scope in light of larger outsourcing deal and successfully works with peers.
• Develops and/or exercises continuity plans. Develops/maintains surrounding Declaration, Activiation and other processes so that they integrate into ITIL-based IT outsourcing delivery model.
